EFM01 (12" vinyl EP):out 09/5/25 on Alfa Matrix

Following the release of the full album 'Back to Basics,' it became evident that CUBIC was embracing an electro sound. This five-track vinyl takes that exploration even further.

The first remix comes from the talented Commuter (France), whose 2019 album 'Machines and Regrets' is a true work of art. The track 'I Travel' has been transformed into a quintessential French electro piece, perfectly suited for a DJ set by The Hacker or Miss Kittin. With its classic electro bass line, steady 4/4 kick, and layered strings, this track is sure to get you moving.

The second track, 'My Home Computer' (in its original form), would have seamlessly blended into the full album. It features pure electro vibes, enhanced by a vocoder voice and lyrics that many will find familiar.

On the b-side, CUBIC kicks off with a remix by Acidulant (Malta). This track boasts an incredible 808 kick that drives the energy, making it a guaranteed dancefloor hit!

Next up is the second original track, 'OFM,' which is another pure electro offering, but this time with a beautifully melodic main theme.

The final track features a remix by Millimetric (France), whose version carries a rhythm reminiscent of the iconic sounds from Düsseldorf. This remix has a darker, more ominous feel.

The artwork for this EP draws inspiration from the layout of the Modor DRM1 Drumcomputer and was created with the endorsement of this Belgian synth and drum machine manufacturer.

The original version of 'I Travel' will be released at a later date.

This package features a special 12-inch vinyl (Cat. Nr. AM1345LP) in black, showcasing five brand new and exclusive tracks, including remixes. It also includes a unique postcard and a business card.

BACK TO BASIC (full album):out 31/5/24 on Alfa Matrix

"Back To Basic" album, following the release of two tantalizing 2-track EPs titled "c64" and "c128" paying homage to the iconic Commodore computers.

This musical journey promises an explosive fusion of 808 drums, KRAFTWERK percussions, and nostalgic 80's computer vibes (personal computers, floppy disks, and basic computer language programming).

CUBIC's latest offering stays true to its roots, relying solely on hardware synths, drum computers, and effects featuring relentless basslines, vocoder voices, and 4/4 kicks – the unmistakable sound of C-UBIC.

The opening track, "Computer Alphabet," not only sets the tone but also serves as a nod to the first CUBIC full album, "The CUBIC Alphabet." Vocals are delivered by the iconic Speak and Spell computer from Mattel, adding a touch of retro charm. Classic electro tracks pay homage to the genre's resurgence in the 90s channelling influences from Anthony Rother, Dopplereffect, and Cybotron., while modern twists in 'ART INN' and 'Pleasure Machine' blend electro, techno, and EBM.

"Back To Basic" also boasts the unique use of the first Belgian Drumcomputer (Modor DR2) and its synthesizer counterpart (Modor NF1), complemented by an arsenal of hardware gear allowing CUBIC to create a unique sonic palette that transcends boundaries, setting the tone for an electrifying future.
